Job Description:
This position will be a member of JPMorgan Chase”s System Performance Engineering team within ECS. As part of this high-performance group, this individual will be responsible to optimize the mainframe operating environment, deal with day-to-day performance issues, and to resolve complex performance situation that involve CICS, DB2, MQ, Network, and I/O subsystem. This position will work closely with several Infrastructure and Operations organizations such as OS, Storage Management, MF Operations and Enterprise Command Center as well as client development organizations to ensure high availability and deliver quality support services. This high-energy, results oriented job requires a balance of strong technical skill and team work, a sense of urgency resolving problem issues, creativity, work schedule flexibility, adaptability to changing business conditions and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

General Responsibilities:

Assist in performance analysis on system related issues, perform system health-check, collection and analysis of performance data of before and after installation of new software product versions or new hardware changes. Perform level III problem diagnostics and resolution to performance issues. Provide input to development organizations on related issues. Use performance reports/metrics to identify improvement opportunities. Perform Root Cause analysis, provide real-time performance monitor and recommend tuning changes when appropriate.

Job Requirements:
Ideal candidate to have 3 plus years direct and current hands-on experience working with MVS/ZOS performance management area,
able to handle complex performance situation,
knowledgeable of using performance tools such as Omegamon, Epilog, Mainview, RMFMON, etc…. , willingness in taking on new responsibility.
A minimum of 2 years hands-on experience with WLM policy, deal with I/O subsystem and hardware performance issue,
working knowledge and skill of extracting information form SMF and MICS/MXG database by using SAS. Hand-on experiences with MICS and MXG is a must,
experience and knowledge to deal with DB2, CICS, MQ performance issues would be beneficial.
Candidates must be proactive, able to handle extremely stressful situations and maintain composure under pressure;
aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills on highly complex problems; technical agility;
Applicants are required to be team player, self starter, adaptable, resourceful, customer focused, relentless in the pursuit of quality,
willing to take accountability and drive issues /projects to completion.
Strong verbal communication skills are needed. The ability to relate technical issues to non-technical personnel would be helpful.

Education: BS in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS or related field. (Or equivalent experience).
