Technical Skills:
• Experience in implementing storage in a large environment
• Experience in enterprise storage technologies such as SAN and NAS etc
• Good working knowledge of enterprise backup technologies
• Assist in major projects that have a direct impact on the business such as large vendor solutions, Disaster Recoverability, Data Center move, or new storage equipment/solutions that roll onto the Data Center floor
• Create and update documentation that is relevant and important to the day to day operations of Systems Storage, examples are renaming of servers, trend charting, growth and capacity charting
• Experience in disaster recovery planning, Daily monitoring and support Disaster Recovery solution. This involves keeping track of multiple mirrored volumes on- site and at the remote facility. Much preparation, documentation and storage knowledge is needed and used daily to facilitate a working Disaster Recovery solution
• Continually monitor storage activity by reporting, documentation, and general knowledge of day to day activities
• Experience in various storage architecture solutions, software, hardware, and other storage products
• Highly organized, with excellent prioritization, planning and time management skills
• Disk/Volume/Systems administration
• Cluster build, configuration and management
• Patch and upgrade management
• Good understanding of ITIL principles in storage and capacity management process
• Expertise in Storage configuration ,monitoring & analyzing event, alert logs and appropriate actions taking, strong trouble shooting skills in storage environment and solving problems in a very short time
• Must have worked on Performance tuning of storage
• Pro-active measures and preventive measure for storage problems/errors.
• Creation of weekly status reports, Solving pending tickets
• Meeting SLA in time to fix the errors and problems.
• Storage controller firmware up gradation, Disk controller firmware up gradation,
• SAN design configuration
• Preparing scripting tools for automation.
• Manage NetApp and EMC software
• Excellent knowledge on EMC symmetrix and Clariion storage
• Excellent knowledge on NetApp filers
• Basic Operating system knowledge (Windows, HP-UX and Linux)
• Basic knowledge on SAN fibers and connectivity
• Using ECC, review daily alerts. Check ECC agent status and restart agents if necessary
• Troubleshoot reoccurring agent issues
• Monitor the health of key SAN resources including the SAN fabric
• Identify the available performance of interconnects in SAN
• Leveraging NetApp’s Data Fabric Manager monitor the health of the NetApp filers
• Proactively notify specific team members of resource filer related issues including volume and aggregate capacity issues.
• Willing to work in a 24×7 environment
