Work with System Admins to provision storage. Create LUNs, mask luns, switch configuration, making sure storage is visible to OS. Work with vendors to bring in new storage frames, migrate storage from old frames.
Be part of storage on call and handle any break-fix cases. Participate in various projects in storage and backup area like SAN/NAS Virtualization, Continuous Data Protection, FCOE, iSCSI, WAFS, VTL, Disks to Disk backup, ILM, Health Monitoring, Reporting, Storage consolidation, Standardization of firmware/patch/microcode…
Take proactive action to avoid any issues in production storage. Manage small projects. Mentor juniors members in the team. Need to be self driven.
Need to be strong in verbal and written communication. If you have worked as part of global virtual team, it will be an added advantage.
Most of the storage is based out of US/EMEA. Work does NOT involve night shifts.
